Robert began sailing at age 8 in Michigan,
where he came of age and completed his education with a Masters
Degree in English Literature from Michigan State University. Post-Graduate
school led to a position in Denver Colorado, and traveled abroad
where he came to live and rediscover his sailing roots in St. Thomas
in 2002.
Robert holds a 100 ton US Coast Guard License,
is a PADI certified open water diver and has sailed extensively
over the past 5 years in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands including
a trip to South Africa. Most recently, he completed an 8 month trans-Atlantic
Loop on a 28ft. Irwin dubbed Ramblin Rose. The voyage included the
Azores, Portugal, Spain, Morocco, and Madeira.
Robert looks forward to providing you with
unforgettable sails and tales.
First Mate / Dive Master: Derek Hall

Derek, your host aboard the IRIE, looks forward
to extending a warm welcome to his guests. Derek has spent the past
five years working in the service industry. While he thoroughly
enjoys all aspects of this industry, his true passion lies in the
hands-on experience of dealing directly with the customer, ensuring
that they are catered to at the highest level of standards and that
their expectations are not only met, but exceeded.
Those who encounter Derek would describe
him as a personable, easy going, and very attentive to detail. His
obvious care and interest in others will make his guests feel right
at home the moment they step aboard.
Derek's love of the water began while living
in the "Land of the 10,000 Lakes." This lure of the water
is what led him to the islands and to IRIE. While his current passion
is sailing, other interests include diving, snorkeling, water skiing
and fishing. Derek is a PADI certified Dive Master and is currently working
on his PADI Diving Instructor Certificate.
