Captain Robert Bredeck  

Robert began sailing at age 8 in Michigan, where he came of age and completed his education with a Masters Degree in English Literature from Michigan State University. Post-Graduate school led to a position in Denver Colorado, and traveled abroad where he came to live and rediscover his sailing roots in St. Thomas in 2002.

Robert holds a 100 ton US Coast Guard License, is a PADI certified open water diver and has sailed extensively over the past 5 years in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands including a trip to South Africa. Most recently, he completed an 8 month trans-Atlantic Loop on a 28ft. Irwin dubbed Ramblin Rose. The voyage included the Azores, Portugal, Spain, Morocco, and Madeira.

First Mate / Dive Instructor: Kilian Hammerbeck 

Well, the crew gods have smiled broadly on Irie, as we present our new first mate Kilian Hammerbeck. A Virgin Islands resident for 7 years, he's also a licensed USCG captain and a PADI dive instructor. With an extensive sailing background including the Baltic Sea, Atlantic crossing and down island cruising, Kilian is also and accomplished racer and sail instructor with On Deck Racing. He's already received written accolades after his first charter with us and is a perfect fit in our crew.
